First impressions - they really do count!
January 22nd, 2009With 2009 promising to be super competitive across all industries, it may be time to examine all the collateral you are presenting to your clients. There is no point having a great newspaper ad if your website is dated and tired. The great impression created by amazing business cards can be quickly undone by a flyer created in Publisher using clipart images.
It may be time for an internal audit of every item that has your business logo on it. This may include business cards, letterhead, invoice paper, signage, email footers, flyers, newspaper ads, your website – the list goes on and on. Keep in mind that every single thing you present to clients with your logo on it can give them a positive or negative impression.
Anything that is not giving a great impression of your business – bin it! Either re-do it or don’t use that item until you can afford to re-do it. Even your website needs to be looked at. We have seen many business websites that are doing more damage than good. You may be better off having a really nice single page “website” for now than a multi page site that is horrible to look at and contains information that is horribly out of date!
