Client Profile - HBF Run for a Reason

The HBF Run for a Reason presented by The West Australian is on this Sunday, 23rd May.

It’s been an absolute pleasure working with these guys in the lead up to this event.  I think if you haven’t heard about the HBF Run for a Reason, then you have been living in a cave these last few months! Radio, TV, Press, Web, Outdoor - they have used every advertising medium available and it  has been great getting an insight into the amazing work the promotional team has done to get the word out about this new event. Inbound marketing - let your customers find you!

Inbound marketing: a term used to describe methods which allow people who may be interested in your message to find you and engage with you under their own volition.

This is opposed to more traditional “outbound” marketing methods which involve sending your message out to a large group of people, many of whom are not interested in it at all (and are thus not receptive to it). Think tv/radio/press advertising. Read the rest of this entry »

Make the most of your Photography Blog

I’ve noticed a recent trend for photographers to display their recent work via a blog. This has definite merits:

  1. They can do a shoot and on the same day, give that shoots clients a quick sneak peak of the shots
  2. At the same time, they are constantly adding examples of their most recent work to their site. If a photographer’s site hasn’t been updated for 6 months or more, their site is probably not an accurate reflection of what they are capable of as it is my experience that photographers are constantly developing their craft.

Doing what we do well …

At Swish Design we are constantly examining our processes and systems to ensure that we are consistently in a position to deliver our services at the level our clients have come to expect.

A recent examination highlighted for us that there are certain things we do really well, and hence are really efficient at. The things we are most efficient at save our clients money because we bill in time. Conversely, there are things that don’t come so naturally to us and hence introduce inefficiencies into our workflow and slow us down.  So what specifically did we identify?
