News update - 3 November 2009

Hi everyone

Just a quick update to say that Robyn has had her baby! Oliver Luke Petta arrived one week early on Wednesday 28th October. He was a healthy 7 pounds 14 ounces and 51.5cm long. Mum and Dad are both doing well and they took Oliver home yesterday.

As you can see by the picture above, 3 month old Jaden outweighs his new cousin considerably but I am sure Oliver will catch up (well maybe he won’t, Jaden is growing like wild bouganvillea!).

In other news, things are pretty busy at Swish at the moment. Rory and Adrian are continuing to hold the fort in the office while I work close to full time hours from home. The run into Christmas looks busy as always and I am already looking forward to having a break over Christmas and the New Year! Meanwhile, we have recently given the Swish website a bit of a spruce up so if you haven’t had a look around for a little while, check it out now

And I had best be going as Jaden is telling me it’s time to go for a walk!!

News Update - October 2009

Well it’s been a little while since my last update. On july 31st (1 day “late”!) Anthony and I welcomed Jaden into the world. A big, bouncing, baby boy, weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds, 6 ounces and with a great big head to match. The birth wasn’t the funnest time I have ever had, but the payoff was certainly worth it! Now ten weeks old Jaden is still growing at a rate of knots and we have gotten into a lovely daily routine. He is even giving me the odd 7 hour sleep at night here and there. Precious boy!

Meanwhile Robyn has left us to go on pregnancy leave. She is due in 2 weeks time and Jaden is looking forward to the birth of his cousin. No doubt they will be the best of friends growing up!

All these babies doesn’t mean we are any less busy at Swish Design.While Rory and Adrian are looking after things in the office, I am working close to full days from home at the moment! We have several big projects in the works at the moment, all due to finish by the end of November so these are keeping us nice and busy.

July News - The baby is coming!

Hi everyone

Well time certainly flies when you’re absolutely flat out. It’s hard to believe but Baby Exeter is due in just over two weeks now so it’s definitely time to let you all know what’s going to happen here at Swish in my absence!

I will be finishing here in the Swish office on Friday 17th July. While I will still be checking emails and doing some work from home, Rory will be managing the day to day running of the office along with general workflows … so if something needs immediate attention, best to email Rory (rory@swishdesign.com.au). Please still email me (kelly@swishdesign.com.au) with quote requests and general job enquiries that don’t require immediate action.

At this stage I will be absent from the Swish office until the start of October. The office will still be at full design capacity in my absence however as our new designer, Adrian, started with us last week. Welcome Adrian!

Please be patient for the next couple of weeks or so as our capacity to turn things around super quick may be a little reduced while Rory settles into his new role and Adrian settles into the system. If you can give us some extra lead time with jobs, that would be fantastic. Also, if you have anything BIG on the horizon and can let me know in the next week or so that would be fantastic as we can get it scheduled into our workflow from now!

Any problems or concerns let me know but please be assured that in my absence from the office, we will continue to provide you with the same great service you have come to expect from Swish Design!

Some important news from Swish Design

Hi everyone

Just thought I would shoot through a quick update as there has been a bit going on at Swish Design in 2009! All of the following is fairly important so please take the time to read through the below (it won’t take long I promise!).

BABIES, BABIES EVERYWHERE

Yes, I am happy to report that I am pregnant - nearly 24 weeks now and the little one in my belly certainly takes after mum and dad as it seems to have a healthy case of ADHD. For something that is only supposed to be 20cm long, the little darling can pack a punch and has already kept me up at night by conducting an aerobics class in my stomach. Other than that I have been really well with no real tiredness so I guess I shouldn’t complain!

As if that wasn’t enough - Robyn is also pregnant! She is just on 10 weeks now so as you can imagine, Rory is having a wonderful time sharing the office with two pregnant females. He has shown remarkable forebearance thus far ;o)

So what does this mean for the everyday operation of Swish Design? Well it will be business as usual. Over the last 6 months or so I have been shifting myself into more of a project management role with Rory and Robyn performing the bulk of the design work where possible. I will continue this transition over the next few months. My baby is due on July 30th and I hope to work pretty much up to that date and then from home once the baby is born.

Robyn’s baby is due on the 4th November by which time I hope to be back at full capacity, but we also have someone new starting with us at the end of the November. So never fear, all of your design needs are covered for the forseeable future!

ACCOUNT PAYMENTS

Swish Design has always extended our clients a 14 day account from invoice date but until now, this has not ever been enforced. Unfortunately, the current economic climate, combined with the move to West Perth and the fact that we now have three salaries to pay means that we now have to enforce this 14 day account period. Please let us know if this poses a problem for you and please let us know if you will not be able to pay your account within this period before it is overdue. We have some ability to be flexible with this but prefer you communicate with us in advance rather than having to follow up an overdue account with you. While it is not a preferred option, we do offer payment by credit card if this makes it easier for you.

The only exception to the above is printing. All printing must now be paid in full before we will despatch goods to you. There will be no exceptions to this rule unfortunately as we have learned a couple of hard lessons with regard to print jobs recently!

EASTER HOURS

The Swish Design office will close for Easter at 4pm this Wednesday 8th April and will re-open on Tuesday 14th April. Further, Kelly will be on leave on the following days:

Thursday 23rd April and Friday 24th April
Friday 1st May and Monday 4th May
