I agree - it’s pretty slack that there have been no blog posts since November 2009! But I have my excuses - we have just been really, really busy! We signed off on a large number of projects in December which kept Rory and I very busy in January while Adrian was away in Japan. February came and with it even more new projects (on top of the regular, quick turnaround stuff) and all of the sudden - it’s March and I am wondering where on earth the year has gone! A cost effective way to manage your own website

It’s one of the number one requests we get when quoting a website for a new client - “I want to be able to modify it myself”.

Unless you’re confident coding html or using a program like Dreamweaver, the only thing that will enable you to modify your own website is if it is built on a Content Management System (CMS) platform. Up till now - the CMS solutions we had access to would add at least $3500-4000 to the price of a website . The Secrets of Search Engine Optimisation

I have been getting a lot of questions lately about Search Engine Optimisation - or more specifically “how do I get my website on the first page of Google results”. This particular question is a “how long is a piece of string” one. For instance - if I wanted to optimise the Swish Design website to get on the first page of Google for the search term “Swish Design Perth”, that’s easy. The same result for the search term “graphic design perth” is much, much harder to achieve. “Graphic design perth” is a very competitive search term whereas there are probably not a lot of companies out there fighting it out to be listed under “Swish Design Perth”.
