A message from Kelly
As you may know, in January 2019 my husband Anthony died as a result of the injuries sustained in a freak accident that occurred while we were driving down south with the kids on our way to a holiday with friends.
This left Swish Design without both its General Manager, and its driving force.
While we were uncertain whether Swish Design could continue to be a viable business in Anthony’s absence, we were determined to keep the business operational in order to complete all the jobs we had open. We didn’t want to leave any clients with unfinished projects, and we wanted to keep our awesome staff employed for as long as possible.
With that in mind, my sister Robyn stepped up to run Swish Design in Anthony’s absence.
I want to take this opportunity to thank her for the immense job she has done this year in the face of her own grief. Anthony has been in Robyn’s life since she was ten years old. They were great friends and he was more like brother than brother-in-law to her. He was also her boss and mentor for the past ten years and would be incredibly proud of what she has achieved this year. I, personally, am humbled by and unbelievably grateful for the load she has carried on my behalf. The energy I haven’t had to dedicate to business operations has been channelled towards my children, Jaden and Mia.
Thank you for the support you have shown Robyn over the course of this year, and for giving her time to fill the gaps in her knowledge.
I would also like acknowledge our amazing staff members: Jamie, Ethyl, Romeo, Jerick, Pam and Gerson. It’s been a hugely difficult year for them as Ant was a much-loved boss and mentor to them too. They have been outstanding in putting aside their own sadness in order to deliver our services to our clients and keep projects moving. They have also stuck with us despite there being uncertainty as to whether Swish Design could continue as a business or not.
We have now completed all the projects we had open at the start of the year.
And while it would be possible for Swish Design to continue to operate, the commitment required from Robyn is too great. So we have made the difficult decision that Swish Design will cease operating on 30 November 2019.
We will, however, continue to operate Swish Online, our web hosting and digital business.
What does this mean for you?
- If Swish Design built your website, and you would like us to continue maintaining it for you, we will do so via Swish Online.
- If you have ongoing graphic design work with us, we will continue to do that via Swish Online.
- If we have done graphic design work for you in the past and you need updates done in the future, we can do so via Swish Online.
- With regard to new website projects, the Swish Online team will be able to design and build simple brochure websites. But we are unable to do complex web projects anymore.
- We will also cease to provide printing services but can recommend a printer if you need one.
In finishing, I would like to say a huge thank you to you, our amazing clients, for your incredible support and patronage over the past 13 years. You are all amazing people with big hearts and big dreams and it has been a pleasure to serve you. I wish you all the best with your business ventures going forward.
If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will keep that email address operational beyond November 30 to ensure we don’t miss any communications.
